Fun and Loathing in Sheol Quirky in a punk meets classic episodes of Supernatural sort of way. The dialogue is crisp and while the plot is a little predictable, the attitude in which is manifested is extremely fun.

So I may now have a new favourite female comic book character (or at least one that ranks really high on the list). I was looking over a list of female fronted comic book series when I stumbled across this title, and decided to read it. I wasn't sure what to expect. Angels and demons and religious stuff is usually the same old thing to me. They're either to philosophical or preachy, or whatever.Honestly, I don't really know what to say other than I love Mercy and this book was just fun. I read t [...]

The comic has some enjoyable dialogue, violent scenes and, most of all, sexy chicks. This one wasn't written for the ladies, but I'm not complaining. It doesn't try to break new ground, it's just a quick read when you need to see some colorful angels and demons fight it out.Mercy Sparx is a demon from Sheol, brought to Earth in human form by agents of Heaven and forced to hunt rogue angels. She is a hot, no-nonsense, bar hopping creature who uses devices designed to hurt angels. They are provide [...]

In hindsight I should have known that I would only be mildly entertained by this collection of stories. Josh Blaylock is an average writer at best, and his attempts at humor most often fall short for me. The premise is a good. Hire a low ranking demon born in Hell to bring in rogue angels from heaven. An "off the book" operative if you will. The underlying arc of these stories is way to close to recent seasons of the American television show Supernatural, and that is problem #1. Problem #2 is th [...]

An impulse purchase at Indy PopCon 2014. My copy is signed by the author, who sold me on the book personally. :D I wanted to support indie creators at the convention and this book was definitely a great choice. PROS: Brisk pace and good momentum pushes the story forward to the satisfying conclusion; consistently gorgeous art; sexy and interesting female charas; two relevant charas are PoCs; good setup for the ongoing seriesNS: The word "gay" was used as an insult twice. :/Looking forward to orde [...]

I picked it up despite being underwhelmed by the tangentially similar Strange Girl - fortunately, I found this one to be surprisingly good. The art was much easier to wrap my head around, and while one could say the art in Strange Girl matched its attitude, the art in Mercy Sparx matches its humorwhich turned out to be a much better match, in this case. Pretty original, fun gadgets and characters, and an expanded setting that is a good fit for the story that's placed within it.

Love the Art and the concept. The story overall was good.

I love this series. The writing is great and the character is B.A.

I love Mercy Sparx so much, I wish there were more and that it was published more reliably ~ this is the best character and she should have more investment!! Come on Devil's Due make it happen!!

This was great; she has quite the bad attitude but she certainly gets the job done!
