Loved it! As romance suspense stories go, it was really good. It had a tight, believable suspense story (I did not roll my eyes even once, which is hard to do with the romance suspense genre!), and it never lost focus on the romance. the story moved at a frantic pace, but was easy to follow along. Great writing. The story reunites old lovers, and what a reunion! Fast, furious and crazy action takes them on a life or death chase for survival. Pete, a wealthy antiques dealer with a questionable pa [...]

Stolen Heat is the second book in the Stolen Trilogy by Elisabeth Naughton. Stolen Heat is the story of Katherine (Kat) Meyers, an Egyptologist. Kat is the love interest of antiquities dealer Peter Kauffman. Peter was introduced in Stolen Fury as Rafe Sullivan’s best friend and gallery owner. In Stolen Fury, Pete’s previous relationship and subsequent heartbreak was alluded to. In this book, we get the full story.Six years earlier, Pete meets Kat at an archaeological dig tour in Egypt. He pu [...]

Stolen Heat4 StarsSeries Note: Although the characters in the books are connected, there is no ongoing storyline so the books can be read as stand alones.Six years ago, when Peter Kaufmann, a dealer in ancient artifacts, first met Egyptologist Katherine Meyer, he didn’t always play by the rules. Their intense attraction and romance encouraged him to take a different path, but the change came too late with devastating consequences. Now Kat has literally returned from the dead and with her the s [...]

Stolen Heat was a winner in the suspense stakes, but a loser in the romance. While Pete and Kat were together for most of the book, emotionally they were very much apart - for far too long for my liking. I can understand the reason for this distance - Kat did fake her death six years earlier in the midst of a passionate, if brief, relationship with Pete - but books like this, where open and honest communication would go a long way in resolving the 'misunderstanding', really get my goat.I did lik [...]

Well I really liked the first one. The characters were great, the interactions were good and the plot kept me reading, so I wasn't concerned when I picked the second part of the triology and it started all good. Right from the start I was drawn into the story and was really interested to see how Pete and Kat get back together. But then the one thing happened I really dislike: flashbacks. I don't know really why, I just do. I hardly care about them on TV shows, but I can stand them in books. It's [...]

If I could, I'd give this book more than 5 stars. It grabbed me right from the start and did not let go. I loved everything about this book. It was a fantastic story, fast paced, action filled, an H&H that I loved. The romance was good and the heat enough to satisfy me. I could not ask for more. This is the first book I've read by Elisabeth Naughton. It's also the second book in a series. I have bought the first book and do plan on reading it in the near future.Thank You KarlynP for the recom [...]

The second book in her Stolen series, Stolen Heat bounces to and from past and present as we see how the relationship between Peter Kaufmann and Katherine ‘Kat’ Meyer started while also following them while on the run for their lives. I loved the real response from Pete when he realises that Kat had not, in fact, died six year ago. The tension between them as they try to outrun the enemies, didn’t jump from angry to ‘back in love’ within a scene or two. The gradual belief and trust tha [...]

I am in love with this series and this book just that love grow a lot more! Pete and Kat were incredible together and they had some pretty serious baggage to bring to their story, which is ALWAYS a very good thing in my book. Their dynamic always kept you on your toes thinking if that was the time when everything was going to be alright between them and they would live happily ever after. It was very refreshing to me that their past and present problems didn't get some kind of closure right at t [...]

This is probably more like 3.5 stars. It was a good read but I felt it jumped around a little too much between past and present and that made it difficult for me to get really absorbed in it. I liked the plot and the characters but still felt like I could put it down more easily than usual (but I did pick it right back up). It was still an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to Hailey's story.

3 stars – Romantic Suspense

This is a new author to me. I'm very happy I found her books. Fabulous stolen treasures and strong characters in a wonderful story.

Stolen HeatPete and Kat met while both in Egypt and had an affair. Pete was a under handed artifacts guy and Kat a egyptologist. Things were good but it was mostly sex and no personal info on Pete's part which bothered Kat. Kat believed someone was stealing their findings from the cave. Then two of her friends turn up dead and she is scared. Kat faked her death and Pete is devastated and wishes he was more honest with kat. Because of Kat well Pete decidedly change his ways and be legit but he ne [...]

The action, danger, suspense, and romance haven’t slowed down one bit in this second book in Ms. Naughton’s series. This story is about Pete, who is the best friend of the hero in Stolen Fury, the first book, and Kat, the woman he knew he’d never see again. Literally. The moment she amazingly and unexpectedly shows up in his life again, they’re on the run, all the while finding their way back to one another as they learn to trust each other again after all the lies, secrets, deceit, and m [...]

For the past six years Pete Kauffmann has never be able to forget the white-hot affair he and Katharine Meyer enjoyed while he was in Egypt dealing antiquities and Katharine was working at an archaeological dig.But a series of unfortunate circumstances and misunderstandings forced them to part on a sour note and before Peter can clear the air and set things right between them he discovers that Kat has “died” in a car bomb explosionor did she.In fact Kat Meyer with the aid of a former, CIA ex [...]

Peter Kauffman is an antiquities dealer who for years was not exactly clean with his deals. That is, until he met Egyptologist Katherine Meyer and had a burning love affair with her. But Pete’s lies about his business ruined everything and before he could try to make it right, Kat died in a car bomb.Six years later, Kat is back, alive and kicking. The woman Pete thought was dead isn’t and all those old feelings come rushing back, for both of them. However, Kat isn’t just back for him, she [...]

The last person antiquities dealer Peter Kaufman expected to see after the auction was her. A car bomb killed Egyptologist Katherine 'Kat' Meyer in Cairo, years ago. She's got to be dead but those almond eyes are unmistakable, but it can't be her. Peter thought he'd gotten past seeing Kat everywhere. That's why he was getting rid of this trinket. She can't be alive.Kat's dreaded the day she'd run into Pete before she was ready and couldn't stop kicking herself or deviating from her plan. Kat's t [...]

I loved this book! The chemistry between the two main characters was awesome and full of fire. Kat and Pete were just one of the greatest couples I've ever read a story about. There was a past, a whole lot of feelings and a possible future. The thriller story was also very exciting and I really enjoyed it. :) Elisabeth Naughton knows how to keep her readers at the pages! :)*** German Review ***Nachdem ich das erste Buch von Elisabeth Naughton gelesen habe, wollte ich unbedingt das zweite Buch lese [...]

Stolen Heat is powerful, sexy, heart-wrenching, and packed with action, with an exciting and satisfying ending.Intense misunderstandings between the hero and heroine, making them think the worst of each other, is a technique that can work well in a romance when done right and not overdone (I'm looking at you, Judith McNaught) but it's so painful to me that it really ratchets down my enjoyment of the story. In this case, for me, it was right on the line - I still thought the book was great, but I [...]

Stolen Heat Keeps The PromiseStolen Heat is Book 2 of Elizabeth Naughton's STOLEN Series, and it maintains the quality of the first book.Antiquities dealer Peter Kauffman, introduced as Rafe's best friend and partner in Stolen Fury, is stunned to discover the only woman he ever loved did not die in a taxi bombing six years before. In all those six years while he grieved, she never once got in touch with him, and that fuels his anger when he discovers Egyptologist Katherine Meyer is alive. But, w [...]

I have read books 1 and 3 of the Naughton's Stolen series and this one is by far the best. There were actual twists and turns in the plot. Even some suspense. Not so much soft core porn as in her other books so if you are here for the lovin' and not the actual story than try the other books in the series. Don't get me wrong, there is still a gushy romance between Pete and Kat but this novel deals more with the mystery. Pete thinks Kat was killed in a car wreck in Eygpt six years ago until he see [...]

Six years ago Kat and Pete fell in love in Cairo. They had a fight and she ended up dead from a car bomb. His life was never the same. He has a collection of Egyptian artifacts that remind him of her. Now he decides to sell then off. But Kat needs the necklace that she have him back. It is the only way to prove her innocence and keep Pete safe. While she is stealing the necklace Pete sees her and can't believe his eyes. She is alive and here in New York. Only problem is that the people she has b [...]

Fantastic! For someone who has avoided contemporary romances, I really enjoy Elisabeth Naughton. Her suspense series are wonderful. The women are strong and the men are hunky. The suspense in this book kept me interested from beginning to end. Cat and Pete are great characters. I hate for each book to be over. Thankfully there are still a few more books for me to read (listen to) in this series. I wish authors and editors would use the correct "Couldn't care less" instead of "Could care less."

I am seeing a pattern with this author. There is an "almost" sex scene in the very beginning of the book, and by almost I mean the H/h are hot and heavy and ready to go and then there is some sort of interuption. After the near miss there is nothing between the H/h until page 200when there is sex it is sensual.I had hoped to see more from the first couple, Lisa and Rafe, sboince Peter was a friend of Rafe, but it is not to be. They are mentioned towards the end of the book.Over all this was an o [...]

I loved the first one in this series and Elisabeth Naughton has become a favorite author, but I struggled with this one. I was confused through much of it, and the characters just never made me care about them. They never told each other the truth, and in hiding it from each other, they hid it from me, the reader. And their entire relationship seemed based on sex. It wasn't until the end of the book, when they began to reveal themselves to each other, that I began to care. But by then it was too [...]

the second book in the Stolen series is high octane action! cor blimey, it don't half move at a pace!! set across 48-60 hours, 2-3 days, it tells the story of Pete and Katherine. he believes her dead, and is shocked to discover she has been hiding for six and a half years, and only comes out of hiding because . . . .well, I'm not saying why! the book has action, suspense, a twist in the tale and some hot sex, not so much historical bits as the first one but it doesn't detract from a darn good re [...]

This was a fun beach read (literally! I read it while sitting on the beach!) though it falls into a few romantic suspense trappings, namely that the characters have to stop to lust after each other every few pages, which slows the action down. I wonder also if the book wouldn't have benefited from having more development happen between the protagonists in the present timeline and less time in the book spent on the past. Because despite all the backstory, I still felt like, at the end of the book [...]

A good second effort in this series that easily stands well on its own. (Although, if you are planning on reading Stolen Fury I'd read that first so the suspense of that book isn't ruined.)I did get frustrated by how the back story of these characters is presented and the jumping around of scenes. I'm not sure how the author could have done it differently and kept the book to a reasonable size but it was a little frustrating. Still a recommended read though.

I enjoyed the book but it wasn't one of my favorites. I didn't much care for the male lead, Peter Kauffman. Kat had every reason to mistrust him so his anger at her really annoyed me. His acting like he was the one wronged was totally backwards in my mind. Katherine Meyer, or Kat, was a bit of a wishy-washy character. There was absolutely no reason for her to feel guilty about what she had done. I'm glad I read this book, but I wouldn't look for another like it.
