dnf.uld not get into it at all.elving it for now (sorry)

This was a very enjoyable first novel. I will keep an eye on future books by Lise Gold.3.5 starsMar 29, 2017

I am far too cynical for this book and in general. This started off pretty good but wow did it go downhill fast. There are so many things about this book that downright irritated me. I really don't understand how it's gotten such high ratings. The entire story to me was just utterly unbelievable and unrealistic. In fact I ended up skimming half of the book and even wondered whether or not it would end up as a DNF.The main characters spend less than a week together and the reader is supposed to be [...]

Over all, 4 Stars for the audiobook (a "re-read")3.75 stars for narration. I enjoyed this audiobook version of this book. The narrator C.C. Sinclair did well on the Bali natives and the British characters including Lily and her mother, but then again, I don't know what a Bali accent sounds like. River is an American artist living in Bali who also gives private boat tours. Great chemistry between Lily, who came to Bali for what was supposed to be her honeymoon and mysterious River who is hiding f [...]

This was a beautiful story. A really beautiful story. I loved it!

Lovely romance with very likable and well written MC's, Lily who is visiting Bali which was supposed to be her honeymoon and River, an American- tour guide and artist. There a number of side characters - the author does a remarkable job giving each a backstory and personality but it is not overwhelming. I look forward to read more from this author.

3.5 stars. A good first book from a new author. I really liked Gold's second book Beyond the Skyline so I gave this one a try too and I wasn't disappointed. Even though I didn't really connect with characters like I did in Beyond the Skyline, I still enjoyed it.Gold differentiates her books from others by taking readers to some exotic location, Bali in this book, Hong Kong in her second book. She researches locations, food, culture, traditions quite closely so besides romance her books still hav [...]

This is definitely a winner! When Lily's life is in disarray, she hopes a holiday will help her piece it back together. River has a very dramatic past and has built an impenetrable wall around herself. Despite that, Lily gets under her skin like no other woman but River is not looking to settle down. She wants no commitment. Lily's holiday is gradually getting hotter and hotter with sizzling sexual tension. Is Lily the one who's worth facing your deepest fears for? Most of the story takes off in [...]

Really enjoyed the book and the writing style only could not get over the mistakes in the editing the kindle edition had, Lily is spelt numerous ways throughout the book including Lily, Lilly and Lillie, annoying as she is the main character!

Very pleasant read. I would rate it four stars, but the cover is so gorgeous it gets another star for that.

Lise Gold’s novel, Lily’s Fire, is the book you want in your TBR bag when you head for the beach. If you’re not headed for the wind and waves, then Lily’s Fire should be on your nightstand. It’s that good. At first glance, one may understand this novel as an entirely predictable girl-meets-girl plot, and you would be correct. The novel follows the actions and thoughts of two protagonists: Lily, the British editor and River, the American artist. Lily flies to Bali to recover from a phil [...]

BeautifulI was intrigued from page one. Beautifully written.I thought the storyline and characters were well developed. The storyline made me feel sadness, angry, and happy . I won't lie you may need a Kleenex I couple of times. I would definitely recommend this book.

OMG! This is her first book! This is this author's debut novel! WOW! I loved it. The gut wrenching sadness Lily was going through at the start of the book. The beauty of the setting in Bali that you can visualize yourself being there. The passion between Lily and River. Th beauty of River's artwork and what let to the end of the book was just absolutely stunningly well done. The characters were so poignantly well developed. The storyline was so spot on! I look forward reading more stories by this [...]

Lovely StoryLise Gold's debut book is sweet and refreshing. I enjoyed her characters and their introduction into the story. Both River and Lily were likable and interesting characters, the book was fun lightly humorous and abit steamy but mostly a wonderful romance. I look forward to more works from this Author.

This was so cute and adorable! I couldn't stop reading and I'm so glad I read it. You should all read it!

4.5 starsI really like the beginning and love the ending of this book. The in between pages.I would like a little more detail, particularly in regards to River's motivations and what finally turned her around. In general, the characters are easy to like and I love the many secondary characters with all their quirks. The descriptions of Bali are wonderful. Overall, this is a well written, well paced book and I recommend it.

I've read this book a little while ago and I found a very enjoyable, light romance. I hesitated about the narrator at first and it took a while to get used to her voice, but I warmed to her and she did a really good job with the different characters' accents voices. This is the author's debut and I'm looking forward to her next book and the narrator's other work.

Great firstI was very impressed that this was her first novel. It was very enjoable, well written. I found myself trying to slow down once I got to 70% to try and make it last longer. Looking forward to more from Lise Gold.

Fantastic i thoroughly enjoyed reading this beautiful story, wonderfully written. I can't wait for more books by Lise Gold hopefully soon

The best thing that happened to Lily is that her fiance cheated on her before the wedding -- so she went on the honeymoon alone. The Bali honeymoon package was wonderful, sand, surf, quiet, sight-seeing, and an artist named River.
