*I received a digital copy of this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.*This was such a good book! What started as a fun, light-hearted read quickly turned into a much darker, but moving story. There are two parts to this story, both very different. The story is interspersed with blog posts dated months into the future, which made for a thrilling read as we waited for the two storylines to meet. When they did, I was left surprised. This was a story [...]
This Really Happened is one of the best examples of self-published, young adult fiction I've ever read. It began as a fun, engaging story about Erin's time at university, but quickly turned into a much darker, more compelling mystery. The story was interspersed with ominous blog posts published months in the future, which kept me on the edge of my seat. When the two narratives eventually collided to reveal what really happened on the fateful night that changed Erin's life forever, I was left bot [...]
I was given a free Kindle copy in exchange for an honest review. They say there are multiple sides to every story and that point is driven home in this book, but not in the manner you would expect. To see what I mean, give it a try, and let Erin tell you her truths. At the beginning I had a hard time getting into it, with the jumping back and forth between the story occurring present day, and the blog posts set in the future. This however, may have been more an issue on my end, as I kept trying t [...]
“We all have our own truths, Erin. Sometimes they’re the same, sometimes they’re not”This book got me thinking what really happened!I love how the characters friendship developed. The six flatmates have different personality but still manages to bond and respect each other. But then, there's Charlotte and Allen! I didn't see that coming. I was hurt for Erin. That incident kept me wondering and guessing the whole time that i was reading this book! I just felt bad when i got to the part of [...]

When he unexpectedly starts dating her friend Charlotte, Erin struggles to maintain a sense of normalcy and preserve her friendships and she is nearly successful, unti [...]
I've been in a reading slump for a few months now and I usually just end up not finishing books lately. I am so thankful that this book helped me to get out of it. This book is well written and the plot is engaging. There was a hint of mystery which made me want to uncover the secrets immediately. Part two was a bit anticlimactic in my opinion, but I think it is what is necessary for the story to tie loose ends. *Copy of the book given in exchange of an honest review
I received this book in return for an honest review. It was a very interesting book to read, not everything happened that I wanted too and I got confused over what actually occurred and what didn't but I really enjoyed it and would definitely reccomend it it to friends.
I got a free review copy of this book and it's a real breath of fresh air for the YA genre. There's a real emphasis on character growth and McQueen handles her protagonist incredible well. Erin's escape from her colourless home-life into the chaos dimension that is the student experience is incredibly affirming. Watching her struggle through the maelstrom of new experiences and emerge from a bloody, traumatic maturation can be harrowing, but I was so happy to find another YA book that made me fe [...]
I've read it a few times. It's better-than-mediocre. Would recommend.
This Really Happened, by Annmarie McQueen is jam packed with layer after layer of authentically written emotion. The characters are developed, relatable and loveable. I fell completely head over heals with Annmarie's writing style and flow. The plot points are original, gripping, and heartfelt. The entire story just feels so real, I couldn't help but to wonder if the Author had in fact experienced similar circumstances. I had a hard time believing this was actually a fictional piece. It's a beau [...]
