Note: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Plot/Story: I really enjoyed the plot. I like the idea that these zombies could not be killed by simply shooting them in the head. It was fun…in a horror sort of way. I will not say it was fast paced because it did take it’s time to getting to the zombie part. But, I was okay with that because the author was just building the scene and showing how all these people played a part in the end of the world. Eve [...]

This book is one of the best zombie apocalypse books that I have read to date. I started reading it on the 26th of August and it took me two days to finish it. The characters throughout the story grabbed my attention from the beginning and I just could not put it down. It starts out with different citizens throughout the city doing odd jobs in several locations. Some sort of spy type program designed to spy on people, or at least that is what you think at the beginning. You then discover it was [...]
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*This zombie book is not like most zombie books. The zombies are not easily killed and are actually kind of smart. I liked how the author told how each character contributed to the apocalypse in their own way. The descriptions are quite vivid and really pull you into the story. I also liked how the book had an actual conclusion but left room so that the author could easily add a sequel to it. If you like zombie apocalypse books then this book is a must [...]
Amazing zombie story. Scary, but not over done, that would stop you from reading. Appreciate getting a free copy to review. You just want to sit and do nothing else but read until you're done
Zilla is plotting the end of the world. He needs other people to help him accomplish this. It isn't long before he has a group of loyal followers. They all have their own job to do. Ian, for instance, has been going to several buildings that belong to the government and justice departments to plant listening devices. At least, that is what he thinks they are. It turns out that these devises release a deadly virus that turns humanity into the walking dead. Zilla rewards his followers with an anti [...]
The mastermind behind it all, Zilla used extend ideology from all sides to recruit those he needed. They were all unaware of what he was really doing. Each believing it was just a small prank to make people sick. Not a deadly virus that would wipe out the human population. And oh, how they played right into his hands. Now are spared the virus, but not the aftermath of the part's they played. Survival is this apocalyptic world is the first priority. But survival isn't made easy when the dead co [...]
I have read one other book by the same author and I enjoyed that very much. Naturally, I was super excited to get my hands on another potentially awesome book so I had high expectations. First, I want to say that it isn’t that my expectations weren’t met, just that this books wasn’t what I expected. Let me explain. The first book I read by Atlas was a children’s book about a boy who was a paraplegic and took a really riveting and entertaining adventure. It was fantastic and incredibly bo [...]
Where do I even begin? I have to admit, Zilla's good. Too good. He exposed human weakness, by manipulating that weakness and pretended to make it something great. A lie. An empty lie. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. The 5 survivors can be seen as both victims and villains of their own fate. Wanting to believe the world could be better, stronger. But little did they know what they'd be up against. It's become much worse than what they bargained for. And once the truth came out, [...]
I have received the book from the author for a fair review. I was intrigued initially, luckily the book did not disappoint. At the start, you think that these people are fighting the corruption and the bad guys the story twist more and more into something sinister. This book has violence, dreams and the sound of dreams popping like popcorns.
It leaves you wanting moreNote: I am not your normal reader of zombie books, so realize my rating could be lower than what other reviewers would give this book.Rating: 3.5 starsSynopsis: What would you do if you were dissatisfied with your life? How far would you go? What if you were given the opportunity of a lifetime or the opportunity for revenge? Would you take the opportunity or say no because it sounded too good to be true? The characters in this book must deal with the consequences of the [...]
This book is so scary because it could be tomorrow's headlines and because there are Terrorists with these same ambitions. While reading some of Tom Clancy's novels I often thought, "someone on the inside's been talking to him". I had that same thought while reading Fool's Apocalypse. I know some Homeland Security people and the activities portrayed in this book have been tried repeatedly. The creation of Zombie like ("Walking Dead") creatures is a bit beyond reality but, hey, this is Fiction wit [...]
The Apocalypse Served on a Platter of Religious Extremism with a side of Conspiracy TheoryI was emailed by the author and asked to provide an honest review of Fools' Apocalypse.Fools' Apocalypse provides the reader with a first-hand account, from multiple perspectives, into the end of civilization as we know it. The author takes the reader down a twisted path of conspiracy theory politics and religious extremism into the quagmire of a world-ending doomsday scenario wherein each of the main chara [...]
Fools' Apocalypse is a masterful piece of fiction. Anderson Atlas has made a fresh approach to the Zombie genre'.He starts at the execution of the plan of how the end will be brought into for wishing, a piece at a time. The Mystery man Zilla, is the lead anarchist the brains behind the plan, a powerful wealthy man who wants to bring about real change.Ian Gladstone was chosen due to his mom being a political activist she had taught her son well.Sadly due to mounting pressure from the political are [...]
This book has it all, conspiracy, politics, greed and religion! You can’t have one without the other right? It is also loaded with humor, spunky characters, blood, death and zombies. When the action comes it will have you on the edge of your seat and maybe even falling off.I really liked how there are multiple main characters with their own personal back story, sense of humor and personalities. All these things make each character well rounded and easy to follow. The style of writing isn’t s [...]
the most gripping nihilistic "end times" vision that I have read, totally believable and set in the not so distance future of what will become hell on earth. I loved it you will too get your copy today. Brilliantly written by Anderson Atlas a masterpiece that unfolds like total horror.
All in all, it was a good book. It was very original. Although, disagree with certain portions of it, I am still going to read the sequel.
