Great follow up to Dark Seed. I am sure of lot of this book is based on truth, so I can't believe what some chemical companies are doing to the environment. Unbelievable! No wonder there are so many life-threatening diseases out there. Not to mention behavioural issues in kids. Great book, easy to read, and eagerly awaiting the third installment.

I patiently waited for this sequel to Dark Seed and as soon as I was able to get a week away, I dove right in. The story moves at a quick and thrilling pace and as a resident in the Pacific Northwest, I could picture exactly what the characters were doing and where they were going. I couldn't read fast enough to get to the end and am eagerly waiting (again!) for the final book in this trilogy.

This book was a suggestion from other readers. Not sure what all the fuse is about nor do I agree that it's a fantastic read. It's an okay yet predictable read featuring a story line of a reporter vs. big corporation, the latter being ran by a cabal intend on world domination through selective elimination. Anyone who has worked in the field of entomology, food security, agriculture, or ecology would be aware of many of the topics that are discussed in this novel. The writing is time simplistic, [...]

Verigin explores socially important themes, the main one here being Genetic Engineering in food and its impact on the wider world.'Naintosa is well known for their Genetically Engineered crops, yet evil lies at the heart of this business. My first impression when seeing this novel is I like its design cover. You know that it's gonna be epic. From what I know this is the sequel from popular story Dark Seed. And to be honest, I don't read Dark Seed. So I cannot comment about its story. I can see that this story is direct continuation from Dark Seed based on the plot because it still involves many characters from Dark Seed. I like the characters. It's not perfect but unique. I don't know how to explain it. It just not like your aver [...]

Nick Barnes receives a call from an old colleague, Summer Perkins. But when he meets her, he finds that she has been murdered. Nick looks into what she was reporting on and finds Naintosa, a company known for genetically engineering crops. But they don’t really have humanities best interest in mind. Nick goes on the run to try and stay one step ahead of the killers hired by Naintosa. Will he survive long enough to get the conspiracy out to the public? This is a great, action filled thrill ride. Seed of Control by Lawrence Verigin is a fast paced, ecological thriller about the journalist Nick Barnes as he attempts to uncover and foil the attempt of the agrochemical and pharmaceutical conglomerates Naintosa and Pharmalin in controlling the world. It is the awaited sequel to the book Dark Seed, about the implications of genetically modified foods. From GMO's it moves towards exploring the effects of the herbicide glyphosate. It further explores the idea of genetic manipulation and DNA dam [...]

I really enjoyed the first book, Dark Seed, so was looking forward to the sequel, Seed of Control. If you haven’t read Dark Seed yet, I recommend that you read it first before Seed of Control. In the first book, the author does a great job of building reader interest in the main characters, and so much so that you will find yourself cheering them on as they battle a gigantic, multi-national corporate foe. The battle itself is plausible and entertaining as it continues in various locations thro [...]

Lawrence Verigin has done it again! He has written another ecothriller that is full of brilliance and suspense. Seed of Control is the follow-up book to Verigin's last release, Dark Seed. I am confident it can be read as a stand-alone novel, but if you can, take the time to read Dark Seed as well because it's great. Protagonist Nick Barnes is an ex-journalist who is attempting to rebuild his life after a nightmare situation involving a greedy corporation who would be pleased to see him six feet [...]

Seed of Control is one of those books that keeps you turning page after page well past your bed time. This book is not only a compelling thriller but a thought provoking read that keeps you wondering if there just might be some truth behind the fiction. If you haven’t read the prequel Dark Seed, I highly recommend you do. You will not be disappointed and will soon find yourself back here looking for more in Seed of Control.

Seed of Control went by super fast, it had a great pace to it. Nick Barnes is such a great character to have for a thriller book, he gives the story that extra "umph". What really intrigued me about this book, was the concept of it, because in our world we have so much corruption. So Seed of Control feels realistic, sometimes thrillers can have that unrealistic vibe. Honestly, I wasn't bored at all in Seed of Control, the writing is great! Overall I give Seed of Control five stars!

I was given this review in exchange for an honest review. This was a great book, and scary! It really makes you think what's wrong with the food we eat.I really enjoyed how much this book made you think of real life and that this could actually happen. You should read then for sure but be ware you may be scared to eat processed food afterwards .4.5 Stars, great book!

Seed of Control was fast paced and exciting. The locations the book was set in were interesting and the descriptions made you feel as if you were right there. The scheme that was uncovered was extreme, but when you thought about it, plausible, the way the author revealed it. A great read, I highly recommend it.
