In St. Petersburg, Florida, it is summer break for Sadie Ford, a divorced mom and teacher, but before she can even plan her days ahead, her 17-year-old daughter Scarlett has turned her world upside down.Thinking that Scarlett is at her dad’s house, Sadie is stunned to discover, from one of her daughter’s friends, that Scarlett has taken off for Paris to “lose her virginity” to Luc Rollande, the exchange student she’d had eyes for the previous year.Sadie isn’t really the impulsive typ [...]

What do you do when your 17 year old daughter runs away to Paris with her boyfriend without telling anyone? This is the dilemma facing Sadie Ford, when her daughter, Scarlett, turns up missing. Sadie jumps on the first flight to search for the missing teens. When she turns up no clues, she enlists the help of the boyfriend's father, Auguste, also a divorced parent. Auguste and Sadie travel to the south of France in pursuit of the teens. Along the way, the teens are not the only ones to find love [...]

The title is actually a giveaway to the crux of the story. As the title suggests, our protagonist, Sadie finds herself in Paris chasing her younger daughter who took off to Paris in search of an exchange student whom she thinks she is in love with. What follows is a roller coaster ride of emotions and physical chase. The story started off on quite a slow note. Sadie took her sweet time to get on that plane. Also I found it a bit hard to believe that a mother would just take off without a help to [...]

I really like how reading this story had a gritty feel to it. It made the whole reading experience as real feeling as it could be. Sadie had a very valid reason to go chasing after her daughter. terrorist bombings and sex slaves are not things to be taken lightly. In fact, the more I read and educate myself on human trafficking it needs to be brought more into the spotlight and stopped. While I have never been to Paris, it was like I could see the city both the beauty and the dangerous sides as [...]

This book was a refreshing read, especially because the heroine was not an early-20s woman, but one of middle age, with teenage kids and a 'normal' life. That is, hectic and messy and full of the little details that a lot of books gloss over. I connected with her immediately, and could feel her frustration and anger and worry all at once. And when the action moved to Paris, I was delighted to be 'visiting' one of my favourite cities once more. I could absolutely envision the car chase through the [...]

An interesting, entertaining suspense novel, I loved it.Could not put it down, I felt I was with her in Paris.Would recommend to anyone who enjoys suspense novels.I won this book in the Firstread giveaway.

Scarlett runs to Paris, chasing after Luc. Sadie runs to Paris, chasing after Scarlett. Scarlett finds Luc, and trouble. Sadie finds Auguste, Luc’s father, and together they must find their kids. If only life were that simple!Sadie, a single parent who always puts her girls first, is alone and in Paris, without a plan, desperate to find Scarlett and return to Florida before any of her fears for her teenage daughter’s safety come true. Paris Runaway starts off with any parent's nightmare. Sadie finds that her teen daughter, Scarlet, has lied to her about her whereabouts and has actually run away to her classmate Luc's home in Paris. I would be beside myself and not have a clue what to do. Sadie? She just hops on the next flight to Paris and begins her search. I have to say, I admire her courage and determination. I just could not imagine going into a foreign country alone. With the seriousness of the situation aside, I did fin [...]

Like all of Paulita Kincer’s French escapist novels, Paris Runaway is a fun, entertaining, exciting read. This book is perfect for a poolside read, to take with you on an airplane, or to lock yourself in the bathroom with as your kids bang on the door. Paris Runaway’s protagonist, Sadie, deserves a break. With a loser ex-husband and financial woes, this school teacher should be able to enjoy her summer off in Florida, but her youngest daughter, Scarlett, has other plans. The teen follows a F [...]

Great adventure/romance novel!I felt completely immersed in French culture when I was reading this book. Kincer included so many fascinating tidbits that nobody would know unless they'd spent a considerable amount of time in France. The main character, Sadie, is funny and flawed. She's searching for her 17-year-old daughter who has run away to France to lose her virginity to a foreign exchange student. Sadie joins with the boy's handsome father, Auguste, and she tries to resist her attraction to [...]

This was a fabulous beach read! I picked it up this morning and never sat it down until I was done. The characters were relatable and their adventure was a joy to watch unfold. If only real life teenage drama ended in a trip to Paris and an adventure with a sexy French man then the teenage years would not seem so bad. I highly recommend this book if you're looking for a fun, sexy read!

Paris Runaway has a storyline as intriguing as the cover. It's an adventure that carries the reader through the streets of Paris. I enjoyed this book as much as Paulia's novel, Summer of France.

I always want to read anything that is based in Paris. It's the most beautiful City in Europe to me and I have been there many times.I enjoyed this book for many different reasons. I admired how the author had made Sadie such a strong character, giving her the guts to travel from the USA to Paris, to find her headstrong Daughter who had runaway to be with a French boy Luc, she had met in the USA. But I was annoyed that she was naive and totally unprepared and considering she seemed such a wise M [...]

If you read my blog, you may have noticed the tab on my home page labeled Books We Wish Were Movies. While I spend most of my days reading books that are headed to the movies, I try to find a little time for books that may or may not get their big screen closeup. The books that I simply can't resist reading. Sometimes those books end up firing my imagination in unexpected ways and I can't help seeing their cinematic possibilities. Paulita Kincer's Paris Runaway struck me that way from its openin [...]

[ I chose to voluntarily review this book, gifted to me by the author]“You brighten my world, and I’ll anchor yours.”Divorced and turning 50, Sadie is the provider for her two older daughters: Evangeline a student in college, and Scarlett, still in high school. Scarlett, scheduled to spend part of the summer with her Dad and his wife has run away instead. Sadie frantically searches all over, checking in with Scarlett's soccer teammates, who don't know where she is. In the meantime, clueles [...]

I’m a big fan of Paulita Kincer’s novels, and I honestly think this is her best yet. It’s an exciting story that takes us from Florida to Paris and Marseilles as Sadie tries to find her runaway daughter, Scarlett. Sadie is still healing after an unpleasant divorce and has been neglecting herself and devoting all her energies to her two girls, to try and keep their family life going. Conversely, although she is going through a complete nightmare of worry and helplessness, the experience is [...]

Sadie unexpectedly experiences a very empty nest after her husband leaves her, her oldest daughter stays at college, and her youngest daughter elects to visit her father on the first day of summer “to get this over with.” Only, it turns out, Scarlett doesn’t make it to her dad’s house and never intended to go there. Instead, days later, Sadie discovers that her 17-year-old daughter flew to France chasing a boy. Sadie scurries after only to find that both Scarlett and the boy are missing [...]
