My biggest problem with a lot of poetry is that it has a tendency to lack life of its own. Not that this is necessarily because of writing failure, but just because poetry tends to come from a place of reflection. As such, a lot of times it is faded and diminished compared to the emotion it recreates. Archer, however, doesn't seem to have that problem. These poems definitely have life. Raw, moving, beautiful life. I really enjoyed these poems and the living force that they offered up to me.
