I have grown to really like YA books over the last couple of years - beginning with things like Harry Potter and Lemony Snickets. So when I got the opportunity to read this, I really was excited. As with all books, I begin with the cover - the cover says a lot about the imagination of the author, especially if they are a self-published or Indie author. The cover of this book really drew me in. Then we get into the book. Anyone who's read my reviews on YA books before, you know that reading to th [...]

The author uses a great beginning to start this outstanding story for older children. It will keep you glued to the pages and you’ll forget to breathe a few times. If you like faery people and where they come from…you are going to love this book. It is full of faery lore and information to delight lovers of this genre to no end.The story is about Colin, who is a thirteen year old kid who lives in a small town name Farmersville.
For the past few months all has appeared to be fabulous and he [...]

Light reading with a lot of Irish folklore and myths imbuing the plot. Actually the whole story bases itself on Irish legends and the sudden discovery by Colin that he is the 20th tangible proof of a long legacy. The Fair folk will come back to life through this book, sometimes coming to aid Colin, other times to take him far from his path, other times to down right kill him for what he represents. As an appendix to the book there is a vey helpful guide to Faerie Bestiary which I definitely enjoye [...]

A Baby Colin!A nice simple introduction to the world of Colin McCool. It was a pleasure to meet Jesse, but sad. Interesting to meet pre-addiction Fianna. Another prequel about Colin and Jesse falling in love and the events leading up to her death would be amazing. I think I am connected enough to Colin that I would be sobbing for days!

Nice backstory to tie in the series Fast paced read very entertaining they require you to write a longer review but this isn't English class so blah blah blah blah blah read the damn book

Enjoyable readReally fun and quick read. Love me some Junkyard Druid. Kevin Hearne brings out the best in MD Massey. Fun to read

Colin McCool plays baseball and has become his team's star player. Even his mom is having success with her art. You could say things are going very well for him. That is until he learns it is all a lie.Colin learns that the past few months his whole town has been put under a spell and things really aren't as they seem. An evil vampire dwarf has cast a spell on the whole town and Colin, along with his friend Jesse, has to stop him.I won this book from a giveaway. The cover is definitely appealin [...]

I loved the cover of the book that is what drew me to read this book. My personal reaction was it was very entertaining and the characters were very like me even though they were vampire dwarfs. The purpose of the book would be for independent reading for a young reader who is interested in vampires. This book highlights on fairies, magic, and curses and would be great to incorporate in the classroom as an example of imagination. With the crazy animals and size of animals this fantasy book would [...]

Great startI was intrigued by the start of this series. I will continue reading until I catch up with the author.
