I decided to read this book because the main girl in the book is named 'Eve' and so am I; she also has blonde hair, like me; big blue eyes, like me; and likes music a lot, like me. Really spooky I really liked this book because I could relate to Eve and I liked that it was told in a boy's perspective.
Luke's father has died. His older sister is being difficult and acting out without their father there to help keep them all together, and apparently has a new boyfriend. Luke's mother is crying. All. The. Time. Matt- his father's best friend- has started imposing on all of them too, owning up to the 'father of the house' role- not that anybody asked him to, not that Luke wants him to.And now there's this girl at his father's funeral- Sophie. She's beautiful. She had a boyfriend. An older, cooler, [...]
Any book that has cheating and deception in it immediately loses points in my opinion. The only reason why I'm giving this book 2 stars instead of 1 is because there were moments of beauty and love that I enjoyed. None of the characters were particularly likeable, although I did love Ryan. Eve was manipulative, Luke was childish and Chloe was too much of a teenage stereotype.I was really disappointed because I have loved all the other Sophie McKenzie books I've read, but this one just wasn't for [...]
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH! <3Sophie McKenzie is a absolute genius! Her writing was very easy to understand and I love how to book is written from a teenage boys mind. GENIUS! This was the very first Sophie McKenzie book I read and I'm very happy. The whole Luke and Eve series is awesome. There isn't much more to say butAD THIS BOOK!!!! I recommend this book to EVERYONE(if I haven't done that already)
Actual Rating : 2.5 starsI don't think I learned anything from this book. But it was a good story. A one time read. I didn't take away anything from this book but it was a light read and I enjoyed reading it.The cover of the book is so pretty, though.
A good short read, great characters and loved that it was written from the main guy's (Luke) point of view. However, it was a bit cliché and many 'twists' were expected and not so surprising Otherwise would recommend to anyone who wants to read a cute love story.
I decided to read this book because it looked good. The category that this book fills in the bingo board is "A book with a male main character" Something I learnt from this book is people do anything for the one they love. My favorite quote from this book is "Is she really going out with him? Is she really gonna take him home tonight? Is she really going out with him? ’cause if my eyes don’t deceive me There’s something going wrong around here."My favorite character from this book was Chlo [...]
Luke's finds himself in an unusual position: his dad has died & his sister is being as awkward as possible, his dads best friend is muscling in on their mum and all his dad left him was a stack of old records & then he notices a girl & is life changes forever. But he can't get up the guts to speak to her, so Ryan takes pity on him and teaches him the six steps and through them he gets to know Eve. A love story told from a boy's perspective and typically another guy is involved & [...]
A nice Young Adult romance novel, with a touch of betrayal put here and there. This is one of my favourite books. As a writer I was interested to see how McKenzie uses first person with one character throughout. My impression: very good! Effective! Gripping! In terms of the narrative, the protagonist is likable. The characters are fairly realistic, although I did question some of the dialogue: Would she really speak like that? Wasn't it obvious they were seeing each other?Overall, a good light r [...]
This book has an ending that cannot match any other. Such a good read.
This was probably the first teen book I've ever read and I absolutely loved it at the time. I remember being completely enchanted by the idea of getting an insight into the mind of a normal teenage boy (!!!). Despite his desperate moping I felt in love with Luke's character and really wanted his and Eve to get together. This series should have ended here.
I've read this entire trilogy and I think I was 12 or 13 when I started it and I remember that I couldn't put it down. I think I'd appreciate it a lot more now if I re - read it since it's pointed at YA but this is an excellent trilogy that I recommend to everybody.
Once I read the first page of 'Six Steps to a Girl', I fell in love with the book and I couldn't stop reading it. It's a book you'll read again and again. I definitely recommend everyone to read this book! It's by far one of my favorite books!
6 Steps to A Girl is the first book of the All About Eve I read and immediately I was hooked! We see how Luke and Eve first met, it's rather funny if you have a twisted sence of humor like me. I'm telling you, once you start reading this book you wont wantt to out it down!!
This book had me hooked right from the first page. Actually make that the title! The book was sweet, romantic and can make you feel so much with so little words!Forget vampires, werewolves, faeries, mermaids and the rest, this is the perfect book to curl up with!!!!
This was a short, fun read. Easily read in one sitting. A good book to read to pass the time. It's from a teenage boy's POV so despite the girly cover guys may enjoy it. I think the title says it all, he's chasing the girl of his dreams but of course there are obstacles in his way. :)
This book I actually got free but when I read it, I loved it! I Recommend this book! Definitely!
I absolutely loved this book, not really a boys book though
It was interesting to see the way boys think about girls XP
I love this book so much!It is a really romantic, fairytale one. One that you'll fall in love with! I have read this book three or more times. So good!
it was awesome read it to find out how males work and how cheating on someone is never a good idea
Sweet book. A nice romantic young adult reader
Loved this book! I especially liked how it was written from a guy's point of view when other books similar to this one are usually written from a girl's. Overall, a fascinating and interesting read.
This book was amazing but not the best of the trilogy.
The storyline was very creative and interesting. Nice to hear a love story from a guy's perspective. It was very funny, too. A quick and fun read.
Not as action packed as some of Sophie Mckenzie's other books, but still a good read
The Music references are good, romance is nice, memorable?, eeeeeemmmmmmmmmm
I picked this up on a whim in Waterstones and I was glad I did. This was a sweet, funny romance and I loved that it was written from the guy's perspective. It gave it a really unique quality.
I really enjoyed this book! It is perfect for ages 13+. I am 13 and really liked it.I couldnt put it down and read it in a day as it is so gripping!I would really advice this to children!
