Jinxed by M.M. Gavillet was a great read. It drew me in instantly . At first I was not sure if the book was the genre I read but after the first chapter I felt drawn to the world the author created. Eliza a confused, homeless girl left her drug addict mother a year ago now and she is on the Illinois streets. Cared by a salvation army volunteer Rosie, whom gives her food and a place to shelter. When Rosie asks about Elizas past, which she has tried to cover up, Eliza decides she can not go back t [...]
This book has a different take on the YA paranormal adventure. The heroine is a runaway who ends up being drawn into a hidden world of demons and danger that exists within our own. However, before she can learn much, she is on the run with some new friends. There are hints that she is something out of the ordinary, but we don't know what is ordinary. No one gets around to explaining it. The supporting characters include some whose behavior is less than reliable. However, it seems t be part of th [...]
I was only going to give this 4 stars originally. This being the first in a series, but I found the story and the writing really great. The author MM Gavillet did an exceptional job. This was a very interesting read. I enjoyed the mix of entities. Demon's,Fairies,Angels and others.I like that they are all part of the Alliance that protects themselves and humans from the not so nice others that are out there. There is a lot of action and a really great story line. There is a lot of unanswered quest [...]
Another fantastic look into M.M. Gavillet's worlds! Especially so for people that have read herother series because this one ties them all together a rather interesting way. Though she did doa wonderful job of weaving the other stories into this one so that you don't need to read the other books. But having read them all it was rather fun coming across the people and places I already knowwhile still having the enjoyment of reading a brand new story and getting to meet some intriguingnew character [...]
A diamond in the rough. This is a truly entertaining action-adventure fantasy story. I enjoyed the diverse and complex characters. The plot is driven with the high-pace adventures and mishaps of the main character Eliza. Leaping from reality into multiple magical worlds, Eliza finds herself torn between helping her friends and fulfilling her destiny as a descendant of Pandora.I found myself easily wrapped up in this story. However, there are a fair number of grammatical errors: missing words, wr [...]
I loved the originality of this book! It has myriads of mythical creatures, some that you have heard of and some that you have, but with a brand new twist. So what happens when a 16 year-old homeless girl is suddenly thrust into this world becoming part of a myth herself? Well this book tells you exactly that! Its a great story and highly entertaining with twists and turns you wouldn't guess. I would recommend this book for middle age to high school.
Very good read !I was on the fence about reading this when it first but I'm glad I did. It leans a little more toward juvenile fiction like for teens. but the storyline is interesting . I'd recommend it as a adult read if you're looking for some quick fun for a read for teens.
Jinxed was a interesting book.I love the character loki. Will was hard to understand.Bea i dislike her.Eliza has bad luck i feel sorry for her.The story line was little hard to follow.I had to stop because i got frustrated. But i do want to read the next book.
I found that I could not put this book down. I loved the storyline and how well the characters worked in this story!
Extremely slow start for me. Way too many "ands" for my liking. But boy did it ever get interesting! Definitely want to read whatever comes after this book.
Looking forward to reading the next book in the series "Betwixt".
Wonderful read. Could use to have an editor go through and double check for mistakes.
