I don't usually read books about space as I'd rather watch the movies but I picked up this book and found it to be quite a great tale. Lots of action and a great love story. Mr. Bunn does great with developing the characters. I do feel that the author could have gone deeper with why Consuela and Wander were kidnapped and what the rulers of Citadel wanted with the sensitive's but I guess that is what the second book is for.

One of the few books I have read that successfully melds science Fiction and Christianity without compromising either. Consuela, a modern-day teenager, finds herself inexplicably drawn into another world. There she meets Wander and they are swept into an adventure involving space caravans, pirates, and corruption in the intergalactic government. I love this book! It’s got just the right balance of action and emotion - serious and lighthearted. The characters are great and the plot is exciting. [...]

A fun, solid story. Not overly heavy-handed with the Christian aspect, which was nice and refreshing, and Bunn had some interesting ideas about communication and space. This book was originally published under the pen name of Thomas Locke.Reading this book fulfilled a long-standing promise to Mr. Bunn that I would read "something else of his" other than his first book. I met him many years ago at a writer's conference, bought his book, and asked him to sign it. He would only sign if I made the p [...]

Very disappointing. Loved the story and was drawn into the characters and plot. But the end was terribly unsatisfying. They didn't answer any of the questions that were raised throughout - the nature of the Hegemony, what they were using the Sensitives and Talents for, what would become of the Hegemony and their corruption, would our heroes escape, would Avanti be able to recover, etc.? Barely tied up any of the loose ends and was a frustrating and disappointing end to what would have been a fin [...]

LOVED this book! I was kind of hesitant about if because I'm not much for space adventure books and more for sword and castle stories but I'm glad I hit that Buy button :)! It is a beautifully written story with characters that have weaknesses, flaws and some that are just plain lost, looking for something but not knowing what that something is. Faith is wonderfully woven into this book. I really enjoyed it with all the ups, downs, joy, and tears that are caught in the pages.

This is one of my favorite books! Really good character development!

An adult re-telling/compilation of three books I read when I was much younger. I love the name Wander because of these books.

this one I would recommend to my children and grandchildren.
