What a mess! It's hard to look into twentieth century British demography without stumbling across Karl Ittmann. I have read two of his books now and both were awful. This book simply tried to tie too much together into a single narrative but failed terribly. Ittmann produced a confusing, dated, and unconvincing argument. This field deserves better scholars!
