RACHEL GIBSON, YOU DID IT AGAIN!!!!Run To You is beautiful hot and sexy love story with Beau, ex-Marine and Stella, a smart-sassy woman! Beau is the man on mission to re-unite Stella to reunite her with her long lost sister, Sadie (from Rescue Me). Travelling from Miami to Lovett, their journey and adventures begins.Get ready for one hot, spicy and steamy ride. I adore Rachel Gibson! But I do wish this book was longer <3My Beau:My Stella: "Can we do that some more?""Are you sure you're up to [...]
Full review now posted4 fun, romantic, sexy stars!"I'm an idiot. I thought love happened like bullets and flashbang." He waved the smoke away. "I was wrong. It happens one smile at a time. One beautiful, torturous smile at a time. One look into your eyes. One touch of your hand. The sound of your laughter." -Beau Run to You is the fourth book in Rachel Gibson’s Lovett, Texas series, and I find I’m becoming quite fond of her writing. It’s got that small town, down home feel, but the pace of [...]
I love Gibson and her hockey boys. I even love her with her silly cheesy series, but I spent a lot of time with raised eyebrows while reading this one. There was a lot of really odd quotes. I don't know if they were meant to be sexy or funny, but there's a lot of comments that just came across as awkward."For the record, I'm clean as a monk.""Me too.""I know.""How?" He was so annoying. "Are you a super secret spy and undercover gynecologist?""My face was closer to your muffin than your gynecolog [...]
While second in a series, the first seems kind of inconsequential (and way short). Also, I don't recognize any of those names, so I'm thinking they're likely only tangentially related? This story had some stand-out moments and leads I really liked, though the theory was often better than the reality. Stella turned out way better than I expected up front. She's a bit old to still be finding her way in life (28) so the initial assumption is that she's a flake—an assumption that isn't helped by he [...]
This is the first book I have read by this author. It was ok and likeable. I liked the characters and the humor. What it lacked for me was substance. There was very little of a plot. I won't say I will never read her again. I will probably give her another chance sometime in the near future.
Sadly, I am very torn, I am really not sure how to rate Run To You. I am a HUGE fan of Rachel's, heck I own 90% of her books. Just not sure if I am liking the new style of story telling, she has taken on. Run to you felt as though it was missing something, I'm not sure what though. I know that may not be very helpful for those looking to see if they should read this book or not, and for that I am sorry. Run To You left me missing and craving the older writings of Rachel. What I loved: * Beau! Ha [...]
2.5 - Beau Junger Stars.Run To You was what I would term as an ok read, it didn’t blow me away but I didn’t hate it either, the cover is totally misleading seeing as Beau is blond haired, grey eyed and ripped, and Stella is a olive skinned Latina, but hey ho I can live with that.I had a few laughs with the Queens at the bar where Stella Initially worked, I mean who doesn’t want to have a friend called Anna Conda, and watch acts with names like Lady Gay Gay, Him Kardashian and Devine BoxxTh [...]
Well this was just not what I expected gotta say I feel pretty let down the story seemed to jump around a lot, which left me confused. And I kept getting Stella and Sadie (her long-lost sister) confused maybe it was the fact that they both had names that started with S. I don't know. All I know is that I waited a year to read a new Rachel Gibson book and I walked away very disappointed . Although I did like Beau :) He was kinda cute; in an ALPHA-A-HOLE-MAN OF FEW WORDS-TOUGH GUY way! I will writ [...]
Read this review on Got Fiction? Bookblog3.5 Run To You is the sequel to Rescue Me, where after Sadie Hollowell’s father died, she learned that she has an illegitimate half-sister. Sadie wants to make things right, and at least meet her sister, so she has her fiancé hire an old ex-military buddy to find her. Blake gives his twin brother Beau the details. That’s where this story picks up. Stella, or Estella Immaculata Leon-Hollowell, has always known about her sister, but she just assumed Sa [...]
2.5 stars really. This was just ok. I'm a huge Rachel Gibson fan. She's an autobuy for me. I haven't loved her last books, but I'm such a fan she'll have to really write some trash before I fire her. :)That being said, this just didn't work for me. I feel like this book had so many great ideas. Virgin h and celebate H. Cute idea for something different. But it never went anywhere. Twin alpha bros who do NOT want to end up like dad. Beau's brother is clearly dealing with PTSD and addiction. Beau [...]
Rachel Gibson is one of the contemporary romance authors who I read religiously. She is maybe not one of my favorites but she is a good author. I don't know what happened in this book. For me, it was actually a "Did not Finish." I gave it a hundred pages. Didn't like Stella (whiny, annoying), didn't like Beau (stoic, but not in a good way) and couldn't figure out why I was still reading the book. This is the point where I usually flip to the end of the book and see if the ending is worth wading [...]
Run to You picks up after Gibson's Lovett, Texas book Rescue Me. Sadie Hollowell discovers she has a sister her father never told her about and is now sending sizzling hot retired Marine, Beau to make first contact. The first contact doesn't go so wellBeau finds Stella working a bar in Miami and he just happens to visit on drag queen night. After being man handled by her sleazy boss, Stella is unexpectedly rescued by Beau who happens to break her bosses nose (not knowing her boss was a mafia memb [...]
This is it. The end. I am done with Rachel Gibson. Her last few books have been pretty bad, but this one just capped them all. Beau and Stella meet, dislike each other, have sex, decide that they are soul mates. In eight days. Stella has been a "virgin" for 28 years, deciding to save herself for "the one". Her interpretation of that state is pretty loose, as she apparently has done EVERYTHING short of actual vaginal sex. (Beau, at least, is pretty impressed with her skills.) Beau himself is celi [...]
A bit short, especially However this worked well as a short light and heartwarming romance. The whole story took place over about 2 weeks, however I was quite convinced by Stella and Beau's relationship. Other friends and family members' interference in their relationship just added a pinch of salt or rubbed the salt in where it might hurt. Both characters were really likable, their flaws realistic and their twisted sense of humour funny to me.I read that book right after an awfully cheesy roman [...]
Reluctantly, I have to agreedisappointingThis wasn't my favorite book of Rachel's. I thought some of the story was a little redundant and over written, and the characters weren't all the believable The book is an Ok read but not even close to her previous books :(
3.50 Stars. The timeline was a bit too short to be believable but a sweet read.
Stella is working as a bartender in a Miami nightclub when a stranger saves her from her boss’s unwanted advances by knocking said boss out. The trouble is that her now ex-boss is connected to the mob and he and his goons aren’t prepared to forget Stella and her hero so easily.Ex- Marine Beau is sent by an old friend to find Stella to reunite her with her long lost sister, Sadie. Stella has known about her older sister her whole life; she has always known Sadie was the one her father loved, [...]
While this won't get into my top three Rachel Gibson books, Run to You was still a hot, sassy, exceptionally cute read. Beau Junger is a super-alpha hero but with enough smarts and humour to make him pretty darn adorable (and he has a certain skill in bed which will make most readers quiver uncontrollably Well, it did me anyway OK TMI!!). And I really liked Stella too, her insecurities, her quirky sense of humour, her desperate attempt to stay positive in the face of one major league life FUBAR. [...]
Meh, What a disappointment. I did not believe these two where really together at in point in the book. The story was cheesy and the virginal "I'm saving myself for marriage." was just a waste of words. This couple threw that vow ou and got down on their knees super fast. It was cheesy, alien cheesy. This couple were way out there beyond a realm of a reality I could believe in. is it possible that I fell asleep or into a wormhole while munching on my cheese and crackers ? When did all this love c [...]
3/5; 3 stars; BAn entertaining follow up to Rescue Me. The humour was good, I particularly liked the image of Stella listening to her music, singing her heart out, playing her game on the ipad and Beau having smoke coming out of his ears. I liked the character of Stella but I am thoroughly sick of the taciturn hard ass ex-soldier stereotype. This book could have been better if there had been a bit more character development or if book 3 and 4 had been combined. There wasn't really enough meat th [...]
This book was one of the worst books I've ever read. It was stupid. Just stupid. Instead of wasting your time reading it, spend some time re-reading some of her excellent books instead: See Jane Score, The Trouble with Valentines Day, I'm in no Mood For Love, Tangled Up In You, Not Another Bad Date. Heck almost any of her books except the last two and her Lola Carlisle book. This is killing me, she was my favorite author for years.
The narration was great and the story was too. That is until it ended an hour too early. Lots of good build up – so much potential and then it all just ends. I felt like we had turned to abridged format all of a sudden. A B- for the content. An A- for Tanya Eby's narration.Up side? We finally get a top notch narrator who understands romance for a Gibson book!
2 ½-3 stars – Contemporary Romance
I love Rachel Gibson and getting an ARC of Run to You was awesome! It was as great as I expected it to be! More detailed review coming closer to release date!
Buddy read with Aly :)
4.5 starsReally fun!!!!
I really hate to say this, because I usually love Rachel Gibson’s books. I’ve been a bit disappointed by her last two books, but this was just awful in my opinion. I didn’t really care about either of the main characters, and I just didn’t get why they suddenly fell in love with each other. In my opinion, there was no slow development of feelings that grew stronger over time, no real relationship that was allowed to evolve, just two people suddenly declaring they love each other after ei [...]
