This book was absolutely delightful! It had a very authentic Regency feel. Kate and Jonathan, the heroine and hero, were both wonderful characters, very fully developed and nuanced. Although the book is quite charming and witty, it is not light or fluffy. It does deal with some serious issues, such as spousal abuse, but very adeptly. Further, Kate and Jonathan had been childhood friends, and I could really feel the importance of that bond to both. It gave their relationship a real depth and foun [...]

I like to this quite a bit more than I thought I would. This isn't the type of book that I typically reach for, but it was a quick entertaining read. I'll admit I skimmed a bit--regencies be wordy, nah mean?

This book is dedicated to Georgette Heyer, a writer I have loved for years. When you read it, you find that it is very much in the Heyer style. Not an imitation or rip-off, but more a homage. It is light, witty, and well-written. I loved the hero: I have a soft spot for nerds and geeks, and if this were a contemporary novel, Jonathan would wear a pocket protector. He's not a weak hero though, and a weak hero would not be suitable for our heroine. She has her own issues from a first marriage, but [...]

A clean, touching and fun regency romance. Totally worth a read.
