3.5 starsWhat a great little follow up to the first in the Hot Hands series.A microeconomics professor, Danny, is in a little bit of a mid-life crisis. He was kicked out of his home and, basically, disowned by his ex-wife and two kids when coming out. He's now working at this low-paying job he has no passion for and living in a tiny dorm apartment. He has had a semester-long deal with a cute, young student, Troy. The deal is exactly what the title implies, a grade-A-sex deal.Troy offers up his c [...]

I was a bit hesitant to read this one because I'm not really fond of the whole trading sex for grades theme. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to see the genuine feelings Daniel and Troy had for each other. How wrong I was because these two definitely show genuine, intense feelings. My heart broke for Daniel and the situation he's in with his ex-wife and kids and his job. Daniel has a 'I don't give a fuck' attitude that transfers over to his job as a professor. He pretty much hates his life and th [...]

Grade-A-Sex Deal (College Fun and Gays, #2) by Erica PikeErica Pike has written the second novel in the series College Fun and Gays, I really like Erica’s writing it’s easy to read and before you know it your at the end of the book wanting more. Can I say hurry up Erica I need book 3.In this story we are introduced to College Professor Daniel Corrigan, who is living a pretty sad life, he was kicked out of his home, bashed by his children and thank god he had his brother who helped in start o [...]

Second installment in this series. It was not what I expected and has a bit more questionable content. This one is basically about a professor who has sex with his student in exchange for giving the student good grades. According to the story, this is fairly common practice, which I found a bit odd, but it is only a story, after all. That aside, the professor and the student both go through some struggles as the end of their relationship nears with the end of the class and how their relationship [...]

I had fun reading this. Daniel was obviously bitter and didn't realize how interesting he was to his students, especially Troy.It was sexy, steamy and really enjoyable short read.I need this kind of story time after time though.

Reviewed for heartsonfirereviews I was incredibly leery about reading this one, because the idea of trading sex for a grade didn’t seem like it would leave room for a story, it would be more of a PWP (porn without plot) kind of thing. I was happily surprised to realize there was a very decent story arc here. I do wish the story had been longer (it’s very short), because Daniel really deserves his story be told in more detail. Daniel had been married to his best friend, had a son and a daught [...]

I received this novella from the author in exchange for an honest review. This book is another quick bite from Erica Pike. I enjoyed this story as well. I wasn’t Mr. Corrigan’s biggest fan for a number of reasons. (view spoiler)[ He married a woman knowing he was gay and not bi. He had two kids with her and stayed in that marriage long enough to cause severe emotional damage to his wife and two kids because he was selfish, bottom line. I understand that the pressure to conform to what some pe [...]

3.5 starsVery steamy story about a down-on-his-luck (and mood, very much) teacher whose jaded years, depression, and recent lack of morals leads him to making "grade-A-sex deals" with various students. He slowly starts to do away with them however, when he falls for one of his students. Troy comes off as sexy, very slutty, and flighty. In the end, however, the story is really about how little each men show the other about who they really are and how different they in fact are from their percepti [...]

3.5. A lot packed into a short story here. So at first, I thought that maybe the subject matter would be a little bit off-putting. Somehow sex for grades seems a bit sordid. But this is actually a very interesting and affecting story about a man who is a teacher by default since his family destroys his life and livelihood when he reveals his sexuality. I really hated that Daniel's son could not accept his father's identity. However, I truly think that the scenes in this story - while painful - w [...]

I like higher ed in general - and this one's setup was slightly naughty and decadent. Grades for sex - the classic scandal. Here though you get a down on his luck middle aged guy and a bright hot young student. The sex was fine - suitable to the story. The surrounding characters were also suitable and, unfortunately, a little bit heart breaking. The POV felt a bit off - it felt different in places. Sometimes remote and sometimes intimate it made this short read a bit confusing to me as far as em [...]

3.5 starsThis review can be found at Brief Encounters Reviews.I can see that some readers might be put off by Daniel in this story. My feelings for him changed as the story progresses. Daniel has an agreement with Troy, sex for an A grade in his economics class. At first it’s just all fun and games, Troy tells him about all the guys, including other teachers, he has sex with, and Daniel’s no angel either, however as the semester comes to a close, things have started to change for Daniel. He [...]

I don’t know whether I really like this one, or completely dislike it. I love Erica Pike's writing, she's quickly becoming a fave author of mine; and so I was a little disappointed in this one. It could be because the story has so much going on, and not enough time to explore them in such a few pages.Daniel was married and living a lie, but he couldn’t hide from whom he truly was. So he decided to come clean to a wife he thought of his best-friend, and hope that somehow his children would un [...]

Once you read it, you'll never have a doubt about this series. I really, really liked the first book, but the story in this second book had caught me off guard (in the pleasent way). sweet love story!

Re-released :)

Another winner from Ms. Pike. I'm actually rating this a 4.5 the only reason it's not a 5 is that I wish it was longer!

Totally skeevy but disturbingly hot and surprisingly sweet.

Good short m/m romance about a professor who realizes he's developing feelings for a student he has a "sex for grades" agreement with.

3.5 starsThis was an interesting short story. (view spoiler)[I was a little cautious at first because for me the student-teacher dynamic can be either very cool or not at all. I didn't like that Daniel was making deals with students for their grades, I liked even less that he did that also with straight ones who clearly didn't want that. True, they could have refused, but he was the more mature and the one in the position if power and that felt abusive to me. He has a son of roughly this age, ha [...]

Originally posted at Rarely Dusty BooksThe student-professor theme is not my favorite at all. And although this story was well-written I never really warmed up to the main characters. I especially had a hard time liking Daniel who gives his students higher grades for sexual favors. It’s not only that, but he just never seems to become sympathetic. I recon his character and behavior is too complex for a short story like this, and probably would come out better in a novel. Just like the topic of [...]

Who hasn’t had an attraction to a teacher during their youth? Well this takes it one step further and shows the other side of when the teacher is more than willing to accept sex for a grade change. Mr. Corrigan is a heart breaking character whose life has changed all because he decided to be honest with himself and to the people who he thought cared for him. This story is actually pretty sad at times but hit on so many levels of what some people have probably actually gone through in their liv [...]

Cute, angsty, hot, and worth reading. I really enjoyed this story. It very effectively tugged at my heartstrings, which was great.Although the last sentence was disappointing--it seemed ominously Happly-For-Now, which was less optimistic than the lead-up suggested for the resolution--I still had great fun reading Grade-A-Sex Deal. It was a fun introduction to Pike's work.

This is my favorite of the series so far (I've read them out of order). There's something about the depressed college professor who hates his life, job, everythingexcept for one of his students, Troy. Oh and professor Daniel has an agreement with Troy, sex for an A. Daniel is one angry man and he takes out his frustrations on Troy (hot scenes, BTW)This was story was easy to read and quick. I liked the ending. I disliked Daniel's son Anthony. He's a jerk.

Another cute quick story about a professor who's in love with a student he thinks only has sex with him for an 'A' in his class. I felt kinda bad for the poor bastard but it all worked out, of course.

At first you think this story will be really harsh with professors making deals for sex but as the story progresses you realizes not everything is as it seems on the surface. There were some really great surprises for such a short book.

Very good short story. I was surprised by how much I connected with Daniel. He's depressed, a total mess and he goes out of his way to be a bastard. The angry sex scene was wonderful! My only complaint is that the ending was a bit too rosy for me.

4 'Another hot little read, kinda felt like I shouldn't like Daniel, but I did, loved both him and Troy' stars.

Badly in need of an edit for example, instead of 'wanton,' one of the characters is described as being 'wonton,' which I found rather amusing :D

It was rather eye widening at times, and a bit ooh nasty but it was still a pretty hot, light read.

2,5 starsI hated the MC. One is a silly and the other one (Danny) is bluntly despicable. But Erica is a good writer and the story is consistent.
