A little too much self-congratulation and minutiae for my taste, but nonetheless, a really interesting look (from the inside) at what I've been watching (from the outside) happen to our government. Duh! I've always liked Arlen Specter, although he's a bit too self-congratulatory in this book for me. I started skimming early on because I was looking for "a Tea Party Uprising and the End of Governing As Know It". If I'd paid more attention to the whole title I'd have realized that this was going to be a memoir, not an intensive look at what has gone wrong in Washington. Specter has been there long enough to pinpoint when it started. Anyway, a fine book for Specter fans but it did not give me [...]

I really have a new respect for the senator. This book had some really interesting details but also was redundant at times. It got 'long' at the end, but overall I am happy I read it.
