Dull and predictable. I was waiting for something to happen, but what really put me off was this ridiculous moment:Taking the square packet from him, she brushed her arm against his hot erection. Deliberately, she brushed him again as she got to her knew. 'We really don't need this.'Cameron's eyes dilated and his nostrils flared. 'You're protected?'Jessie tossed the condom aside. 'Absolutely.'WHAT THE %&*$?? She has not had sex with anyone other than her husband (who is dead). Cameron has re [...]

Hotness Rating 3 out of 5Review to come

3-3.5 starsThis was a good story. I liked Cameron and Jesse and overall I liked their story. This is the first book I've read by this author and based off this I'd be willing to try more of her work in the future.Jessie is a good woman that tends to think of others before herself. Unfortunately this means that she tends to make herself miserable about things that aren't her fault. She lost her mother before she was old enough to remember her and her dad got cancer her senior year of high school [...]

Not worth your time unless you like watching or reading in this case train wrecks.Basic storyline of High school tomboy gets asked to prom by hot, popular jock. She think she is his last ditch effort since breaking up with his GF so close to prom. Several kisses at the end of the night with little actual storyline and he is gone. 17 years later guy comes back for his mom's birthday & drops by tomboy's gas station to fix his jag. Story goes from there in a very disjointed fashion while the ma [...]

I was really disappointed in this one, because it had so much potential. Boy goes off to the big city, though he longs for the girl next store in his small hometown. The execution of this, however, missed the mark.Misunderstandings and doubt are cornerstones of romances, but can't be the only source of conflict in a story. This book seemed to be one long miscommunication, and if Jess and Cameron had just sat down and had an adult conversation, the story would have been 1/3 the length.I liked Cam [...]

Jessie Kincaid always had a crush on Cameron. She was only fifteen and innocent the night Cameron took her to prom, and she lost her heart to a boy, who wasn't changing his plans. He still left town right after graduation. Never said goodbye to her. Cameron McCade had given Jess her first kiss on prom night, and if he hadn't backed away from her, he knew he would of changed his plans for her. Seventeen years later Cameron is back for his mother's birthday party. The chemistry is still burning ho [...]

This is hotFrom their first date in high school at Cameron's prom, Jessie and Cam have chemistry that is off the charts. However, Cam has plans and they don't involve Salt Fork and as soon as he graduates he is gone. 17 years later he comes to town for his mom's birthday party and when sees Jessie those 17 years disappear, but he has the new job opportunity and his life in Houston. Sticking to his plans is what he did best. Jessie had big plans for her life, but life had other plans for her. She [...]

This was a pretty good book. Cameron McCade left Salt Fork, Texas to pursue his dreams. Jessie Kincaid was fifteen and innocent when Cameron asked her to the prom. She lost her heart that night but his plans didn't change. Now he is back and she is a widow and fire still burns. This was a pretty good book and I love reading about second chance romance. Jessie had big plans for her life, but life had other plans for her. She has lost her mom, dad, and her husband TR and now Cam is back in town an [...]

Audio Book ReviewNarrator: Erin MallonThe heroine was the problem in this story. First she made this ridiculous promise (about the land) to her dead husband that she did not even love two years ago when he dead. However, she has no problem breaking a promise to her friend and Cameron's mother. Then she says ridiculous things to Cameron that she has to take it slow because of the memory of her dead husband AND remember this is not this is the husband that she did not even loveever. Cameron was th [...]

Had higher hopes due to most of the reviews. Glad it was free. Story got old before I was even halfway through. Kept flipping pages in hopes of more No luck. Will try book 2, but only when I can find it for free. Heroine & her CONSTANT promises she JUST HAS TO KEEP (to a dead husband--that she didn't even love) get SICKENING. The GOOD DOCTOR :) on the other hand, was the ONLY reason I finished this book instead of deleting it off my kindle by halfway through. As for this being the steamier v [...]

It bothered me that for her a child from adoption is not the same as a birth child. Coming from someone that is trying to adopt. Children/babies who are adopted are so precious. Parents have to jump though so many hoops.

It was ok but I felt like it was something missing

I love a good romance book. This was an okay romance book. While I did finish it, the story was very predictable and the heroin's personal "turmoil" seemed over the top. Read it but don't expect to be surprised or satisfied by the story.

njkinny/2014/03/boA book with an unusual title, this was my first book by Anne Marie Novark. I got it free on and bought it because of the intriguing blurb.Jessie and Cameron went out just once but Jessie had always had a crush on Cameron which turned into love that day. While Cameron left town for higher studies, Jessie is left behind with an ailing father and a crumbling business. The story picks up after seventeen years with the return of Cameron who is now a famous doctor and very rich. Jes [...]

This was a 3.5 star read for me.This story was promising at first - the storyline was nice and the characters were likable - but then it didn't seem to want to end and got a bit boring and predictable. I feel like things were going on too long and it was making me restless at times.I liked Cameron - he was really sweet and fun and seemed like a overall good person. He was the boy who moved from the small town to the big city to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. Jessie was nice and smart and [...]

Cowboy stories are always fun - I have a hard time writing them because I'm too cynical (and I prefer the fictional version over many of the cowboys I've met in real life). But I love to read 'em, being a Montana girl, and this one certainly didn't disappoint. It takes place in a small town, where life happens much like you'd expect it to, aside from the sports car that the town's prodigal son drives into town one night. What eventually happens to the carwell, that just cracked me up, but suffic [...]

I've always been a sucker for cowboysn't know what it is about them, but there ya go. So when I saw this one, I jumped at getting it. I did have a few issues with Jessie at some points. However, I can certainly understand where she was coming from. She had made a promise to her husband and does't want to dishonor that. Anyone who can't understand that has obviously never made a promise before. Does that mean I agree with her? No, not at all, but I can see where she's coming from. As for what peo [...]

This is an okay read. The plot is predictable until the end and gets a little bit frustrating. The characters are underdeveloped. I was put off by the heroine. Jesse created so many unnecessary drama through the story that in the end I just think she’s a silly woman. There were two scenes that made me lost it. The first was the one when she states she doesn’t need a condom, because she couldn’t get pregnant. Has if the only reason for using condom was because of that. Are there no STDs in T [...]

This is a second chance love story between Jessie and Cameron. They went to prom together and then Cameron left their small town to follow his dreams.Jessie had dreams too but family circumstances meant that she remained in her home town and just settle for a life she hadn't planned on.Seventeen years later and Cameron has returned for a family celebration. When he sees Jessie again, he is surprised about what he feels when he is around her and is determined to explore these feelings with her.Je [...]

Great readEnjoyed the story. Great characters, once started couldn't put it down. Really enjoyed this book. Will read more by this author.

Love love the Diamondback Ranch series I really enjoyed this book can't wait to read the second one. Jessie and Cameron loved each other their whole lives. Great love story. A must read.

This was my first book by Ms. Novark and it definitely won't be the last. A love story worth waiting for!!

Very good, this is the first book I've read by this author, will definitely read another one!

Cute and sweet. Predictable.

1 st book in series it was a good read but i need to read the second book , to see how the series is going to go

17 years ago, at 15, Grease Monkey Jessie was asked out to a high school dance with Cameron McCade. The guy she has always had a serious crush on. After having a great night, he stole her heart but after that night he finished school and left town for good, leaving Jessie broken-hearted, even though it was only a few hours, she felt that spark and she knows he must have too.Now 17 years later, and after nursing a broken heart for the death of her parents and her husband, Cameron is back in town [...]

Oh myThe popular high school football star invites the grease monkey to the prom. She's just a freshman, what will everyone think? The prom goes off without a hitch and Jess is naive but he takes her to Lovers Point. The kisses they share are forever seared into their hearts and souls. Cameron has a plan he's off to college in just a couple of months. He says goodbye on prom night. Years later he returns. Will they live happily ever after? Read and find out

Not at all what I expected.😕I really wanted to like this book but I gave up on it at page 42. It reads like it was written by a teenage girl trying to sound like an adult woman. The main character, Jessie, is too exasperating and comes across as juvenile.

First kiss Choose this book as it was first in a series, really enjoyed it , at times upsetting with Jesse, but I can understand her behaviour, when those you loved died, glad things finally worked out, will read the rest of the book in this series

Boring. The h was a bit of a non-starter and the H was a jerk. Writing was slow and plodding. Disappointed.
