I got this one on a whim and have no regrets about selecting it from the Kindle store. What a great short story. The premise was different, and the plot went in a direction I wasn't expecting. An interesting twist . . .This story is a high-energy read. I enjoyed the writing (very much, in fact), just didn't care for the story. Personal taste. I'd suggest this story is worth reading, though, just to enjoy a well-written short story.
After a few page turns, I noticed that I was already 25% of the way through this -- I didn't realise it was a short story! That said, it is quite excellent! August's characters are well drawn and the setting is so very, very vivid. The author misdirected me too, which I always like :)

It was well-written, but the story wasn't very good. It was like a Twilight Zone episode without the social commentary or moral to the story.
I didn't know what expect from this short story by John August. But I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick read.
